Leena Bean Coffee is an artisan brand of ethically traded, specialty coffee that is deeply committed to the welfare of rescued and specially-abled dogs. On a routine holiday trip home, it was suggested that I might be keen on a certain three legged goldendoodle at my hometown shelter. Without having had the inclination and before I knew it, I was driving back to Columbus with the most gentle, fluffy, and muddy creature I’d ever met - my little Leena.
Unfortunately, my new friend had other health issues, aside from her missing limb. After several trips to the vet and even ER, I was told she’d likely have indefinite and intensive medical care needs.
Through exhaustive trials and treatments to differing diagnoses, we came through to a healthier, happier Leena than I have ever known. Despite my personal agony over her state at times, I couldn’t help but think of other families and dogs facing similar financial and emotional dilemmas. The Leena Foundation is a testament to the love we have for our four, and sometimes, three legged family members. Sales from Leena Bean Coffee directly deposits 10% of all proceeds to support dog owners in the rescue community needing financial assistance.
